4 Papersellers Club installments

Overall: 75 fics/ficlets, 19 fandoms, and 91,200 words, give or take.

My favorite story this year (my own): This is a tie. I really, very much love and this, my lovely child, is your garden. The language and the feel of it came out exactly how I wanted them. My other favorite is you who are my home. I love the slow build of it and how natural it seemed for Ryan and Karen to find each other and have that be exactly what they needed. And, amazingly for me, both stories were fairly angst-free and had happy endings. I’m growing as a person! I also have quite a fondness for where your book begins. Oh, Tim/Julie. I really love their dynamic. It took me a little while to hit on the right poem, but I think “My Papa’s Waltz” was perfect.

My best story this year: Geez, I don’t know. Probably common threads.

Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: I think come on, light the candle in this poor heart of mine deserved a little more love. And the drop-off in comments between Jim Likes Pam! and each successive PSC fic makes me kind of sad. But I guess it’s understandable, due to the pairings.

Most fun story: Any of the Papersellers Club fics – Jim Likes Pam!, Angela and the Inappropriate Advance, Katy the Hussy, and Kelly and the Unsuitable Boy. Each of them was fun in a different way, though I think I liked writing Katy’s adolescent bitchiness the most. Plus I got to use the word “culottes” in a fic, which has long been a goal of mine. I would have liked to get Karen’s done by the end of the year, but alas. It was not to be. She’ll be this year, along with Jim Halpert: Boy Paper Seller! and the Papersellers Club Super Special #1: The PSC at Camp Hammermill.

Sexiest story: we’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet. Everybody loves Ka-PAM! And the periodic table. Hot. Also, where your book begins, mainly due to the pansexually voracious presence of Tim Riggins.

Hardest story to write: The ones where I had to fit into an existing framework – How Ryan Howard Got a Crush, Got Protective, and Got Kind of Depressed and Warning : May Cause Dizziness were tough. [livejournal.com profile] warning_labels overall is getting super difficult to write while still keeping it in the original Season 2 context. Kelly and the Unsuitable Boy was also hard, since I was trying to incorporate the most recent Office episodes, the previous PSC installments, and the actual Babysitters Club. Lotta layers there.

Most unintentionally telling story: long division. And apparently it’s telling for a lot of people. Who knew pinata-related depression was so prevalent among Office fic readers?

Most "OHMIGOD HEY *I* WROTE THAT" fanon-turned-canon-moment: This is more of an almost fanon-turned-canon moment, but in tim needs counseling, Tim fantasizes about Tami taking him home and taking him in, and the original plan was to make that a full-length fic where she did just that, which would lead to Tim Riggins disrupting life at the Taylor household, wreaking sexy havoc and leaving young Julie quivering in his wake. Which…is close to what happened, I’d say.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2007: New Kids on the Block goldfish funeral fic comes to mind.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them? I wrote RPF, specifically for Harry Potter fandom which, I’ll admit, seemed risky. And I learned that not very many people on my flist read HP RPF.

I think it's a little misleading, since a lot of those were drabbles and ficlets. Because I sure don't FEEL like I wrote ten more things than last year, even though that's what it says. M-maybe this is why I don't have my license yet?

Hahaha, I would just like to state for the record that you were the one who knew the name of the chimp-looking-one's dead goldfish.

Also, crap, I missed like, 3 of your fics from over holiday time. I am the worst person I know. I have some reading to do.

A fact you EXPLOITED RUTHLESSLY.

Oh man, I am the LAST person who would hold that against you, since I still have fics from, like, two years ago that I keep meaning to read. ::wrests "worst person" title away from you::

I was merely highly suggestive. Besides, who wasn't deeply touched by the funeral?

Haha, we can share the title. Also, I got another new icon! I-it's starting to become a distraction. I'll pretend it's so I can share pretty pictures with you while you toil away at work.

It did rival Princess Diana's for poignancy.

I made my journal title a James quote! WE HAVE A SICKNESS. (don't just pretend, you should totally send me pretty pictures)
